Trimming the Mask

Trimming is a delicate matter. If you've become a paper mache zombie during the last few steps find your mask maker brain again and take this part seriously. The trim line for each mask is going to be different, based on a feeling of rightness.

Ideally, the mask will end where the planes of the mask meet the player's head. Generally, that's before the hairline, in front of the ear, just under the chin of the person wearing the mask.

The mask's edges will be convex. Never concave. Avoid two curves coming together into a corner or a hard edge.

Just glue is fine. Tiny strips. Keep it ragged.

Smoothing it All Out

Wood Filler

Can mix with a little glue to keep it flexible. Not too thick, too much sanding. A few coats. Three is awesome.
